Mimmo is ever-grateful to his father, Filippo “Pippo” Domenico who established Romeo Briar in 1950 in Taggia. At the beginning briar was “big business,” and they had ten cutters working at once.
Over time as the demand for pipes waned in the 1990’s, Mimmo worked more closely with his father and they began focusing on quality over quantity. Soon Mimmo began to build his own relationships with high grade customers such as Lee Erck, all the while employing the skills Pippo taught him.
